Arthur Clay Brandt

August 12, 1927 – March 19, 2016

Arthur C. Brandt of Landisville was called home to heaven on Saturday, March 19, 2016. He was born in Lancaster, PA on August 12, 1927 to Arthur Brandt Sr. and Ruth (Hoke) Brandt and grew up with his sisters, Lillian and Barbara and many cousins on Penn Ave. and Dauphin St.

He was preceded in death by his parent’s sisters Ruth and Lillian. He is survived by his sister Barbara Bowers of Lancaster and his two sons – Jeffery (Martha) Brandt of Lebanon, PA and Stephen (Jean) Brandt of Lititz, PA, 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his life partner Anita Jones and known as Pop Pop Art to her 4 sons, 2 daughters, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Additionally, Art was the Patriarch and Uncle to many Brandt’s including Jere, Jere Jr., Jere III, Alex, Carter, Daniel, Trenton, Kalleigh, Kinleigh, Donna, Andrew, Declan, Jim, Kyle, Tome, Andrew and Jacob.

Art was a proud veteran of the US Army (Military Police) during the Korean conflict and attended F&M College on the G.I. Bill. Over the years, he worked in the food distribution business including Food Fair, Keystone Pretzel, Anderson Pretzel, and was an independent distributor of snacks and ended his career in hardware sales with Frederick Trading Company. However, he was more widely known as a 35+ year stand holder at Roots Country Auction every Tuesday, of course! He had a great love of trains and Santa Claus. He was a great friend to many, a stranger to none. May he be at peace in the giant auction in the sky.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Military Services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, at 1:00 p.m. at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
