  • I am saddened. Doug was a great person. Generous. Adventurous. Insanely funny. Smart. I hadn’t been in touch with him for several years. Now, of course, I deeply regret that.

  • I will miss you my rail trail friend. You were so smart and a good person to ride with. We rode the Capital Greenbelt in Harrisburg, PA. We talked about computers and you came over to set it up under a newer Windows. Feeling bad right now after reading about it in the Elizabethtown Advocate. To his family…He was a great friend and I will miss him.

  • My name is Nicky Holford and I am one of many UK ski writers who would like to know what happened too Doug. Many of us lost touch with him when he worked for the library in Verbier. I gather he moved back to the USA after many years in the mountains.
Myself and several other journalists and writers, editors and heads of tourist offices who know Doug for many years are planning a tribute lunch for him here in London on 14th June. It would be great if I could be in touch with members of his family.

    • Doug Sager went out for a bike ride near Lancaster PA, and was hit from behind. Doug was in the hospital for approx a week and died. I learned this from a posting by Cherry Rene-Bazin on his Facebook page . Doug’s sister posted to his Facebook page. His sister Cathy and friends are planning a memorial in Verbier around Oct 26th. Doug moved back to Elizabeth-town NC about 2 years ago. He was an avid bike rider. I do not have contact info for Cathy. I am on Linked In and Facebook. PM me about the London lunch please. I was a high school friend of Doug’s.
