Franklin Delano “Link” Yowler

Franklin Delano “Link” Yowler (79) died on February 10 following complications from pneumonia.

Born in 1938 in Uniontown, PA, he was the son of Nora Shipley and Charles Yowler.  He was the 10th of 11 children.  Mr. Yowler married Bonnie Herniman of Uniontown in 1959; in 1966, they relocated to Conestoga with their two daughters.  Frank worked as an electrician and as an auto mechanic. He was employed over the years at ITT Grinnell, Columbia and at the Conestoga Country Club, Lancaster.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing.  He was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

He attended Pequea Church in Lancaster.  He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bonnie Herniman Yowler, of Conestoga; a sister, Norma Jean Yowler Logan, of Uniontown; two daughters, Shauna Yowler Frischkorn of Willow Street, and Lori Yowler Shepps of Conestoga; and three grandchildren: Nora and Emily Shepps of Conestoga, and Jack Frischkorn of Willow Street.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on February 24 at Pequea Church, Lancaster.  The family will receive guests at 10 am before the service.  Luncheon will be provided after the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Lancaster.
