Gerald R. Patton, Sr.

Gerald R. Patton Sr., age 79, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Tuesday, 9/6 at Hospice of Mount Joy.  Jerry was the husband of Lois Wilkinson Patton.  He was born in Schenectady, NY – son of the late Clarence F. and Edith M. Patton.
Jerry graduated from Warwick High School in Chester County in 1955.  From there he enlisted in the Navy for 4 years.  He had Basic training in Bainbridge, MD. He served in Key West, FL, Newfoundland, and was stationed on the USS Otterstetter for 5 months. He went into the reserves for a year and talked about one mission where they took a Christmas tree to Princess Grace in Moraco.  His travels while serving took him to Italy, Greece, Spain and North Africa.
After serving, Jerry worked at Philco, Pepperidge Farm, Litton Industries and ADP.  He was in business for himself for 20 years – MD Computer Co.  Jerry ended his career as a realtor for Coldwell Banker.
He is survived by his children Gerald R. Patton Jr and Collette Schmit, Kim Patton and Marie Walters, step-son Shawn Payne and wife Andrea; Grandchildren- Michael Randall and wife Lindsey, Alyssa Payne and great grand-daughter Kayleigh Randall.  Jerry is also survived by a brother, Richard.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Pat.
Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.  A memorial celebration of life will be held at a later date.
