Gerald W Fix

Gerald W. Fix, 95, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 22, 2021, surrounded by his family.  Born December 4, 1925 in York, PA to Ruth Anna (Berger) Fix and Eugene R. Fix.  He graduated from Dallastown Sr. High, class of 1944.

Gerald is survived by his daughter, Susan Schofield and husband Jack of Yankeetown, Florida; and son Gerald L. Fix and wife Sheri of York, PA; as well as three grandchildren, Stephanie Schofield of Greensboro, NC, Jack Schofield and wife Tina of Safety Harbor, FL, and Carrie Mitcheltree and husband Tyler of York, PA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Raver Fix and his brothers George, Woodrow, Robert and Wayne Fix and sisters Luella Lehman Wilt and June Lauer.

Gerald proudly served in the U.S. Navy enlisting October 13, 1943.  He was a Machinist’s Mate Second Class, and was honorably discharged January 31, 1947.  He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying both fishing and hunting.  He was a founding member of Dry Run Rod and Gun Club in Centre County.  He also loved to plant a vegetable garden every year and continued to do so this past year.

Private services for Gerald will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in Gerald’s memory may be made to Hospice and Community Service 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17604.
