James P. Hiltz Jr.

James P. Hiltz, Jr., “Harry”, 62, of New Providence passed away on August 16, 2014 at Hershey Medical Center after a 9 month battle with leukemia. He was the loving husband of Susanne (Simmons) Hiltz.

Jim was born in Lancaster to the late James P. Hiltz, Sr. and the late Nancy Singleton Koth.

Jim graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School. He retired in 2011 after 34 years at Amtrak.

He had many hobbies and interests, including surf fishing at Assateague National Seashore, gardening, listening to music and hanging out with with his family and many close friends. Jim coached Solanco midget baseball for many years.

Besides his wife, Jim is survived by his children Heather, wife of Todd Funk, Lampeter, and Donovan Hiltz, Millersville. He is also survived by four grandchildren Josh, Delaney, Dylan and Jackie and a sister Lori McClain of Lancaster.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Jim’s life on September 20, 2014 from 1-4 p.m. at his daughter’s house, 1654 Book Rd., Lancaster, PA 17602.

Donations in Jim’s memory can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the The Children’s Hospital at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
