Joshua A Emel

Joshua A. Emel, 36, of Lancaster, left us suddenly due to a car accident, to be welcomed into God’s kingdom on Monday, May 10, 2021.Born in Lancaster, he was the son of John A. and Christine F. Emel. Josh found his niche as an LPN who was selflessly devoted to helping others. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending most of his time with them. He was an avid gamer, and gained a recent interest in the stock market. He had a witty sense of humor, and he loved animals especially his dog Jasmine.

He is survived by his siblings Brian M. Emel, Jennifer L. Loos, Janice M. Chivers, Jason M. Leipart, and April Romanosky and his extended flock of family.

A service will be held at On Monday May 17 at 11:00am at Conestoga Memorial Park in the mausoleum with an internment afterwards. There will not be a public viewing.

Josh was such a sweet person, so full of knowledge on numerous things and his sense of humor always had me laughing. Losing Josh so suddenly taught me that life is so precious, never take anyone special in your life for granted. I will cherish the memories I have of him forever.

Chris, John & family,

We know the pain of losing a child, so we can honestly say we know how you feel. But also know Glenn was his Tiger Cub leader and we recall how full of life Josh was as a young boy! And, later in life, I tutored Josh in nursing school when he struggled with some areas. It seems he got through just fine and became the nurse he desired to be. God bless you for allowing the ultimate gift of life. Josh was a sweet young man, and we wish you God’s loving peace at this most difficult time.

Dear Chris, John, Brian and “Josh’s family flock”,
I cannot fathom the depth of your pain. But I have a very close friend who’s life was saved by the donation of a young person’s liver. She would not have survived had not a family, in the midst of their own suffering , gave the Gift of Life. It speaks to who YOU are as a family and she is forever grateful.
Josh changed someone’s life even while loosing his own life. I know how much he was loved and I hope you can find some small condolence in that. No doubt he is wrapped up in the arms of his Oma.

Mr, Mrs Emel and Brian, I know that no words can replace the emptiness that must be in your hearts..but josh touched and saved so many lives. Even if it was just the warmth of his smile or a hug when things hurt..he truly went above and beyond at his duties as a nurse. I’ll miss talking to him, and will never forget our debates on the school bus. I am sorry for your loss, but he is everywhere, in the breeze, the warm sunshine, and in every ones hearts who truly knew him.

My heart aches for the family of anybody who’s life is cut short but Josh wasn’t just anybody he was the type to put his own desires on hold to help another even if it meant his own suffering he didn’t care he just wanted people to be happy and do the right thing sadly I know as well how it hurts much more to know you could have done something for someone that would have had a great affect and held off because “what if?” Or “why?” Etc but Josh didn’t care and that’s just a slice of what he has and could have accomplished he was an angel on earth and god must have thought he has done enough to return to heaven and wait for his next chance to do good in a future life. Josh I will miss you as I miss all of my fallen friends and family and I hope you can rest easy knowing you made a difference and were loved! Rest In Peace Josh we all love you
