Lawrence M. Sameloff

Lawrence M Sameloff (The Wine Guy) died 8/27/2018 in Mt. Joy Hospice. He was a Loving Son, Brother, Husband, Father,Cousin and a friend to all that crossed his path. He was born in Bridgeport, CT on  8/10/39 and lived most of his life in CT and PA. Larry was married to his loving wife
Phyllis G. Sameloff (Cohen) since 10/15/1961, and together they embraced life to the fullest, they have 2 children; Dina Beth Shaaltiel and her husband  and a son David J. Sameloff and his wife Angela Marie Sameloff and 2 grandsons Tom B. Shaaltiel and Daniel L. Shaaltiel.  During his time in Lancaster, PA he started Spot Check Auto Sales with his son and helped the business grow over the last 20 years. His love of wine and the art of drinking the gold of the grapes, has been shared with many throughout his travels.  In remembrance of his legacy, he would want all his friend & acquaintances to pour themselves a glass of wine, raise it to the friendship they shared and reflect on their  good times together.  The family is receiving guests on 9/8/2018 @ Spot Check Auto from 10-2 in Lancaster and at the home of Larry’s daughter on September 16th, for more information please email dinabethloft@gmail.com In Lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated and can be made to Hospice and the American Diabetes Association.  Cremation Services of Lancaster (717)273-6283

  • We were so sorry to hear about Larry’s death. We go back a long way as family and friends. We’ve enjoyed the wonderful relationship between Larry and Phyllis and how much Larry loved Dina and David.
