It is with heavy hearts that the family of Linda L “Leah” Kline of Millersville, announces her passing at the age of 62, on Friday May 1, 2020 at the Lancaster General Hospital due to complications from COVID-19. She now rests in the loving arms of her Savior.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and R. Elaine Waters Jenks. She was the loving wife of the late Jeffrey S. Kline who passed away on November 5, 2019.
After graduating from Solanco High School, Linda worked at the Muddy Run Recreation Park for many enjoyable years, first as a cook in the snack bar, then with the maintenance department and finally managing the park’s store and campground reservations. She then worked in the deli kitchen of Darrenkamp’s Market in Willow Street until myotonic dystrophy made working it impossible for her to work any longer.
Linda was a survivor; she did not let the increasing physical limitations of her disease stop her. Each day was lived with enthusiasm and purpose. She loved her husband, Jeff, her family and friends. You could count on Linda to be there when you needed someone. Over the years she rescued and loved many dogs and cats. Her hobbies included working in her flower garden and learning from her friends in the Lancaster County Garden Club. She was an avid bird watcher, and collected any jewelry, picture, or sculpture of turtles that she could find.
Surviving is a sister, Dawn L. Orlosky, wife of William of Lititz; Gregory C. Jenks, husband of Christine of Holtwood, a niece, Ashley Jenks of Indiana, PA, and a nephew, Randy Graves of New Providence.
Due to the current COVID public health guidelines, a celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced by her family. She will be laid to rest at Conestoga Memorial Park.

Linda and I had home room together with Mr. Steel. Always enjoyed the music and catching up. So sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss – especially at this time when you were unable to visit in person. I enjoyed getting to know Linda during visits at Conestoga View and in earlier days visiting her on my walks when she was on her front porch. She was an example of an overcomer with a determination to live each day fully.

I’m so sorry that you had to part with Linda. I knew her and Jeff through Jeff’s work with my husband’s furniture making business – Rengier Furniture. My husband Chas and Linda shared a love of animals. We knew many of their dogs and cats, and they knew our dogs. Linda called me when Jeff died, and that’s the last contact I had with her. I join you in celebrating her life!

Linda is most definitely missed. She was always so kind and giving. My children enjoyed going up and playing with Toby and Roo, feeding the birds and learning something new about gardening. We’ll miss seeing Linda at the bus stop. We miss her candy creations at Christmas, delicious treats she would share in the fall, trick or treating always began with a stop to show Linda our costumes. Though we miss her dearly; she is home with our Heavenly Father!
