Marjorie F. Gearhart

Marjorie L. Feigley Gearhart, age 92 born in Cuddy, PA, and raised in Pittsburgh, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in her Lancaster residence.

She was born September 20, 1924 to the late Lawrence I. and Willa B. Stom.  She graduated from South Fayette Township High School, Class of 1942.  She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, David A. Feigley (1965) and Earl T. Gearhart (1982) and her brother, Eugene (1971).

Marjorie worked in different occupational fields throughout her life.  She was employed by RCA, Schaum’s, self-employed upholsterer, and Hempfield School District.  She had a passion for quilting, gardening, and golf.  She was a founding member of the Red Rose Quilting Guild of Lancaster, as well as a personal instructor/mentor for quilting in her home.

Marjorie is survived by her sister, Emily S. Nendza, and her three children, David Feigley of Washington, NJ, Thomas Feigley and Willa Pedrick of Lancaster, PA, 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 25 N. West End Avenue, Lancaster, on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 3PM with a coffee and dessert social afterward.  Family will greet guests from 2-3PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church general fund or Hospice of Lancaster County.
