Melvin Eugene Brendle, 68, of East Earl, passed away on February 28, 2019 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Ephrata, on June 9, 1950, he was the son of the late Melvin Brendle and Alma (Doutrich) Brendle. He lived and raised his family in Colorado where he worked for the Denver Rio Grande Railroad. After retiring from the railroad he returned to the East Earl, PA area to care for his mother.
Gene is survived by a son, Eric Brendle, married to Ginger (Rhoads) of Virginia; a daughter Christina Moyer, married to Vernon , of Virginia; 4 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; a sister Dorothy Martin of Ephrata and a sister Lois Gehman of Denver, PA.
He was preceded in death by his father Melvin and a sister Ruth Elaine Hibsman.
A visitation will happen Sunday, March 10th from 2 to 5 p.m. at the home of Alma Brendle, 1651 Main Street, East Earl, PA 17519.

Dear Alma, Dorothy and Lois,
I am sorry for your loss of a son and a brother. You have been in our thoughts and prayers–for peace, for times of comfort while you grieve, for some fun memories of the past.

So sorry to hear of this. We had really enjoyed getting to know Gene and Alma
as our next door neighbors. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers, and we will miss having them around. Gene was a great guy and we were sad to hear of his passing.
