She was born in Eau Claire, WI, where she grew up and attended school. She joined the Navy as a Wave and served during WWII in the Chicago area. There she met and married her wonderful husband George. They moved to the Detroit area and raised 2 children. She worked as a secretary for the Vice President at a Savings and Loan Bank in Southfield, MI for 15 years.

Nancy was active as a leader with the cub scouts and girl scouts, a member of PTO and a sisterhood organization PEO. She was an avid golfer and bridge player and loved the outdoors. She enjoyed dancing, traveling and relaxed by reading, sewing and knitting.

Nancy had a heart of gold and loved everyone she met. She was a kind, gracious lady who always wore a smile. She always had concern for others and was loved by everyone. She loved life and had a long fulfilling one.

After the death of George, she married Joseph (Bud) and they had 27 great years together. They traveled throughout the country and spent many winters in Florida. Nancy was lovingly embraced by his children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands and two brothers, Lange and Steve, both of Eau Claire. She is survived by her children Steven Alexander and Jean Geiger, wife of Frank. Her step-children Paul Manion, husband of Marianna, Janice Spain, wife of Jeff and Joseph Manion, husband of Chris and many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Brereton Manor, who became an extension of her family. We were very blessed to have Nancy residing there, as she received loving care by all the staff. She also made many good friends with the residents.
