Norma K. Herr

Norma K. Herr, 79, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital with Gwen May, her companion of over 40 years, by her side. Born in Willow Street, PA she was the daughter of the late Norman K. and Theresa S. (Luttman) Herr.

In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, gardening and camping.

In addition to her companion Gwen, she is survived by her two sisters; Jean Lynch of California and Joyce Arnold of Marietta.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three sisters Shirley Gilchrist, Vivian Bowers and Peggy Rinier.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Graveside Service at The Marietta Cemetery (off of rt. 441), in Marietta, PA on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choosing or St John’s Episcopal Church, 239 E. Market St., Marietta, PA 17547.

  • Gwen I know this real late,this is jonathon from next door was so sorry to see norma died you and norma were always,so nice our,family and I never forgot you guys,and when you 2 were there for us when mom got killed in 83 my dad and I really don’t get along so thats,why I’m just now finding out about norma well her and mom are problebly having a good time giggling and laughing about old times,

    we can’t tell you anything that will help ease the pain and loss…except we have lost so many of our dear friends…and as you well know…norm and i go tracy emailed us with the bad news
    there is nothing we can say or do that will ease your loss and pain
    norm and i go back a long time…till when she had her bar and we met her through dot deVerter…we became friends right out of the starting gate…we are so thankful that we had norm in our life and will have fond memories of norm to last us forever….we never get up to PA….but if you get down to the ocean…as you know our door is never looked…(drives my niece and her family crazy when they stay here)…please stop for a visit or stay for a vacation…we are on facebook…sandy pool…the pic with all the kids

  • Gwen I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one….Norma was a great person and together you guys were great together…I know my mom and dad are going to miss her so much; especially my dad; who says he has no one to stick up for him now…lol.
