Arlene M Ditzler

Arlene M. Ditzler (Bomberger) 85, formerly of Ephrata, passed away on January 5th, 2026, at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born January 23rd, 1940, in Lebanon, PA, she grew up on her parent’s farm near Fredericksburg with her brothers, Mark, Ray and Glenn. Arlene graduated from Northern Lebanon Highschool and Elizabethtown College. 

While she was in college she visited the Ephrata Fair, where she met her future husband, Jack Ditzler. Jack and Arlene were married on November 25th, 1961. Arlene was a schoolteacher at Lincoln Elementary School in Ephrata, where she taught fifth grade for ten years. Arlene always enjoyed flower gardening and became very good at it, earning the title of Master Gardener. She also worked as a Landscape Designer for several years. Around 1980 Arlene discovered her hidden talent for art, painting dozens of beautiful outdoor scenes and flower gardens. Arlene was a member of the Ephrata Women’s Club, Ephrata Church of the Brethren, and many gardening clubs and associations. 

Arlene was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Jack Ditzler, on December 24th, 2025. She is survived by her three brothers, her son John Ditzler and wife Sherry, of Reinholds, her daughter Krista Fisher, wife of Don Fisher of Gilbertsville, PA, seven grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. 

Services will be private, at the convenience of the family.
