Arlie Pennington

April 27, 1953 — January 26, 2026

Arlie John Pennington, 72, of York, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday January 26, 2026. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and carried that grit, humor, and heart with him throughout his life.

Arlie was a devoted husband to his wife, Barbara Pennington, and a proud father to his daughters Christina, Jennifer, and Kelly. He was a loving father-in-law to Josh, Stevie, and Rick, and nothing brought him more joy than his role as “Dad” and “Pop-Pop.” He was the proud grandfather of Avery, Pasen, Riley, Madison, Kobin, Tatum, Axel, Branson, Grayson, Hudson, and Kayin, and a cherished great-grandfather to Payton.

He is survived by his mother Edith, brothers Kenneth, David, and Joe, and his sister Linda. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Taylor and sister Doris.

Arlie loved his family fiercely and showed it in countless ways—through his generosity, his loyalty, and his constant presence. He enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing poker and crabbing, but above all, he loved laughing. Known for his sarcasm, playful teasing, and endless jokes, and his favorite quote “I have to feed the horses”, Arlie had a gift for making people smile and keeping things light, even when life wasn’t. If he teased you, you knew you were loved.

Arlie was cremated, and no funeral services will be held. His family invites all who knew and loved him to remember him in their own way—perhaps with a good joke, a shared story, or time spent with the people who matter most. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
