Carmelina Mercedes Alfonso of Lancaster, Pennsylvania passed away on June 15, 2025.
Carmelina spent the first half of her life in northern New Jersey before making Lancaster her home. She had a dynamic social spirit and tremendous network of friends. Carmelina had a deep appreciation for food. Whether planning meals well in advance or savoring a prepared meal, she approached eating with enthusiasm. In addition to winters in Fort Myers, Florida, she was always ready for a party, a dance floor or a competitive round of Mahjong, all of which brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Alfonso and her parents, Antonio and Carmen Pinteno. She is survived by her fiancé, Bruce Sarna, as well as her son, Michael A. Alfonso Sr., daughter-in-law, Melissa Alfonso, grandson, Michael A. Alfonso Jr., and loyal rescue dog, Charlie.
Carmen will be remembered for her vivacious personality and the unique way she moved through life - on her own terms.
