Carmen Ermerlinda Varas- Diaz, 80 of Lancaster, PA passed away on February 13, 2024. Passed away of Rectal Cancer #CANCERSUCKS
Carmen was born in Quito, Ecuador in 1943 to Nimia Betita Diaz-Franco & Pablo Umberto Varas-Pinedo. She arrived to the United States in 1975, where she met and fell in love with her partner of 32 years Ruben Nelson Arroyo-Perez.
Carmen is survived by her children and grandchildren who are Jacqueline Arroyo’s mother of Naomi Merino, Emily G. Merino, & Angelina Holm, Jennifer Arroyo’s mother of Anthony J. Formoso & Jasmine Formoso, and her youngest child Evelyn R. Mercado. Carmen was a tailor by trade that worked throughout NYC before retiring in Lancaster, PA in 2020.
Carmen worked hard to become a citizen of the United States and was so proud that at 79 she was able to accomplish it. A devoted Pentecostal, she lived her life for her family & friends and was loved by everyone and those she met in passing.
