Carol Tancredi

Carol Ann Coppock Tancredi, 73, passed away peacefully in her home in Lancaster, Pa. on Wednesday, January 7th. Carol was born in Jamaica, Queens, NY. on September 21,1952, the 4th of 6 children of Jeanne and Howard Coppock. After graduating high school, Carol attended Wycoff Heights Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY in 1972. While attending school, Carol met her "husband to be", Tom Tancredi, a native of Brooklyn.

Carol started her almost 50-year nursing career in NY and was quickly recognized as a dedicated, knowledgeable and caring nurse. In 1973, Carol and Tom relocated to Toronto, Ontario and lived there for 18 years before returning to Lancaster in 1994. She spent much of her career as a Hospice nurse and took great pride in providing compassionate care to those in need. She touched many lives both in her career and in her personal life.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Tancredi, her son David Tancredi, her daughter Laura Tancredi, and her sister Kathy Messina. She has several grandchildren Matteo, Oliver, and Stella with whom she provided the same nurturing and compassion and became a loving and memorable part of their lives. Carol was known for her devotion to her family and friends, her laughter, her compassion, her terrible singing voice, and dedication to others, her witty sense of humor and incredible love of her husband of 52 years. She radiated love for her family and friends and we were all blessed to have had her in our life. She will be greatly missed by all.
