Carole E. Britt

Carole E. Britt (née Petrie), age 86, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Born on June 6, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Carole lived a life full of love, laughter, and was always up for a party or dinner out.

Carole began work as a phone operator for Bell Telephone Company. Later, she embarked on a distinguished career in real estate on Long Beach Island, New Jersey—a place she called home for 50 years. Her work in real estate reflected her commitment to helping others find their own special home or summer vacation spot.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Carole is survived by her daughter Noelle Duscha and son-in-law Kevin Duscha; her son Paul Britt and daughter-in-law Jessica Britt; her cherished grandchildren Taylor Price and husband Dan, Connor Duscha and wife Alima , Blair Willis and husband Brady, and Britt Duscha and companion John Paul Cooper; and her beloved great-grandchildren Elliot and Riley Price. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas L. Britt.

Carole had a vibrant personality and great sense of style. She found joy in decorating her apartment door at Homestead Village for every holiday, jewelry making, gift wrapping with beautifully crafted bows, and cheering enthusiastically for the Philadelphia Eagles. Her love for shopping was matched only by her talent for finding the perfect gift and greeting card for those she cared about. Carole’s sense of humor and loving nature brought warmth to everyone who knew her.

A woman of faith, Carole was a member of Hempfield United Methodist Church and a dedicated former member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Brant Beach, NJ.

Carole’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and nurses at Homestead Village and Hospice & Community Care for their compassionate care during her illness.
