Catherine Diem

Catherine R Diem, age 74 passed away at West Reading hospital on May 21, 2025. Born August 18,1950, Catherine dedicated 27 years of her professional life to Carter's Singing Needles as a seamstress, which later became Carter's Distribution Center in Leola, PA.

A voracious reader, Catherine found immense joy in books. Her passion for literature was contagious, often sharing her vast love of books with family and friends. Her other interests included bird watching, doing puzzles, and indulging in mystery shows, as well as relishing the nostalgia of old TV shows. Her weekends camping at the river lot with Ivan, Mary and friends were moments she treasured, providing last memories of joy and togetherness.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Donald B Diem: sister, Judy A Davis (James) of Alverda, Pa; brother, Steven E Harnish (Vicki) of Lancaster Pa; children, Kimberly S Work of Leola, Pa and Brian L Gochenaur (Kelli) of Lancaster, Pa; step-children, Kathy Beachy, Tracy Diem, Barry Diem (Faith) and Donald B Diem Jr, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

Her life was also marked by the loss of loved ones, including her father Harry L Harnish Sr; mother, Flora M Reinhart; sister, Virginia Williams (Tim); brother Harry L Harnish (Margaret); Daughter, Tammy M Anton and step-daughter, Terri Latshaw, who all preceded her in death.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Catherine's legacy and her profound impact on those around her.
