Cora Mae Williams

Cora Williams passed away on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 at Lancaster General Hospital.

She was born on August 6, 1936 in New York City to parents Elias and Eleanor (Griffith) Williams during the depression. At 4 years old, she moved with her family back to Danville, PA.

She graduated from Danville High School in 1954 where she was a majorette and also volunteered as a candy striper at Geisinger Hospital. In 1955, Cora married Wallace Swinehart and moved to Elizabethtown, PA where she raised 3 children while working various part time jobs. After raising her children, she worked full time at RCA and at Burle Industries in Lancaster before retiring from Conestoga Wood Specialties in the staining department in East Earl.

She enjoyed skiing in her younger years, traveling, camping and spending time with her family and friends.

Cora is survived by one son, Timothy (Tracy) Swinehart, daughter-in-law Teresa Swinehart, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Webb, her son Leslie Swinehart and her daughter, Valerie McEwen.

It was her wish to not have a funeral service.

She will be laid to rest in the Old Fellows Cemetery in Danville at a later date.
