David (Dave) A. Groff, 73, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, passed away surrounded by family on June 20th, 2025, after succumbing to a prolonged battle with illness. David was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald N. Groff, his sister, Sandra D. Bloom, and his father and mother, Robert L. and Shirley A. Groff.
David dedicated his life to the family business as an owner of Papa Dino’s Pizza in Lancaster and Papa Dino’s Pub & Eatery in Manheim. He was known for making strombolis and ham boats well after stepping away from the restaurants. In his retirement, David stayed active working for Horizon Healthcare.
Beyond his work, David was an enthusiastic fan of the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Phillies. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing golf, and spending time outside on his patio putting together puzzles and working in his yard. For years, he and his wife spent winters in Fort Myers, Florida and enjoyed vacationing in the mountains. David was a member of the Eight Ward Beneficial Association and Commercial Traveler’s Association in Lancaster.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, his sons David Groff Jr. (Michelle) and Donald Groff (Tracee), and his daughter Nicole Steiner (Brian), as well as his cherished grandchildren, Daulton and Courtney Steiner, Peyton and Lainey Groff, and Thomas Williams.
