David Howard Hornsby, 78, of Denver, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and spiritual leader, known for his compassionate heart and dedication to service.

Born on August 30, 1947, in Harlan County, Kentucky, David’s life was marked by a commitment to helping others. He honorably served his country as a medic in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. Following his military service, he pursued higher education, earning a Master of Arts in Communications from Bradley College.

David dedicated his professional life to ministry and pastoral care. He served as the beloved pastor of Faith Covenant Church in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, from 1994 to 2002. Concurrently, he extended his spiritual guidance to those in difficult circumstances, serving as an assistant chaplain at Lancaster County Prison in Pennsylvania from 1992 to 2002. His empathy and faith left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ginger Polk Hornsby. He was a father to his daughter, Raquel; a stepdaughter, Sonia Johnson Redcay, wife of Rodney Redcay; and a stepson, James Johnson, husband of Kathy Kaelin Johnson. He also leaves behind a brother, a sister, ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to his life.
