Geraldine L. Johns, 96, of Landis Homes passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on August 18, 2026. She was the daughter of David Ault and Verna (Rupp) Ault of Lancaster.
She was an incredibly sweet, caring, lady, with a beautiful smile, a sunny and playful disposition and a great sense of humor. Gerri was married to Forrey Johns in 1957. She loved him deeply and doted on him for 39 years until he passed away in 1996.
She worked at various companies over the years as a secretary and production line supervisor. In her younger years she also worked as a dancer and acrobat in a touring group.
Gerri never had children but was an involved and fun-loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews who share great memories of her upbeat spirit, her infectious laughter, and her thoughtful generosity. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, ceramics and travel with family and friends. She was a devout Christian and lived her faith every day of her life, volunteering for many projects at her church, St. James Episcopal in Lancaster, PA.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, David Ault, and her sister, Gladys Finnefrock. She is survived by her sisters, Antoinette Ehrhart of Lititz and Susan Trimble of Landisville, her brothers-in law Fred Johns of Lititz and John Johns of Mountville, and sister-in-law Jane Brenner of Columbia.
Many thanks to all the folks who loved and cared for her in Aspen House personal care unit at Landis Homes. When asked who her favorite person there was, she smiled and said, “all of them — they’re all so good to me!”
The family will hold a private graveside service at their convenience.
