Jason David Buck, 47, passed away peacefully at his home in Manheim on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
Born on April 24, 1978 in Phoenixville, PA, Jason’s life, though marked with severe physical and mental disabilities, was profoundly influential on those who knew him. Despite the obvious challenges of his life, Jason had an unmistakably determined spirit that only enriched the lives of his family and those who had the pleasure of being around him. He was loved fiercely and returned that love in ways that transcended words.
He attended the Chester County IU until the age of 21, where he was embraced by many loving people who invested into his life in such meaningful ways. He found great joy in his participation in the Special Olympics, an activity he enjoyed with an enthusiasm rivaled perhaps only by his passion for snack time. Jason was a natural fit for his musical family as he had a lifelong love of all music and was always at peace when listening to his mom, brothers and uncle play their instruments. You couldn’t help but smile watching him unabashedly clap and raise his hands in utter joy at the sounds of the guitars and piano. Though perhaps, above all, his favorite place on earth was church, where he would be surrounded by music celebrating Jesus as well as the warmth of loving people who cared about him immeasurably. Jason’s life was a gift, teaching those who were willing to learn about the enduring power of love, music, and simple joys.
Jason is survived by his parents Robert and Linda Buck, New Holland, PA, his brothers Gary (Maria) Buck, New Holland, PA, Chris (Emily) Buck, New Holland, PA, his sister Marina Buck, York, PA, his aunt Phyllis High, West Grove, PA, and his six nephews and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Miriam Seiverling, as well as his paternal grandparents Robert & Jenny Buck, Sr.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the caregivers Jason has had over his 47 years of life.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at Petra Church, 565 Airport Road, New Holland, on Monday, November 24th, at 5:30pm. Attendees are invited to stay for a dinner after the service.
