Judith Ann Messner

Judith Ann Messner, 81, of Lititz, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, at home.

Born on May 14, 1944, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Judith was the devoted wife of Leonard Messner. Together they shared 41 years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and dedication to family.

To those who knew and loved her, Judy held many roles, but her most cherished title was “Nanny.” She will be remembered for her devotion to family, her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her faith, and her gift for nurturing both people and plants. A true plant lover, Judith found joy in tending to her flowers and gardens, cultivating beauty and life wherever she went.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Messner, along with her children Dennis Appel, (husband of Jennifer Appel), John Appel, (husband of Judy Appel), sisters Kathy Turner and Tracy Graham, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Barry Graham and Leroy Graham, and her beloved daughter Vickie Harley.

A homecoming celebration will be held for invited family and friends at a later date.

Judith’s love, devotion, and legacy as “Nanny” will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
