Margaret Kloepfer

Margaret Ann Kloepfer (formerly Eckman, nee Bond) entered eternal life early Sunday, July 26, 2026 at the age of 88. Affectionately known as Peg (or Peggy), she was loved and admired by her family and friends. 

Born in Perry County Ohio, she later graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Columbus and began a career as an administrative secretary and bookkeeper. She married her first husband, Robert Eckman and began her family. She moved to Lancaster County in the early 60’s where she continued to grow her family and career. She worked for Penn Dairies, RMC, the County of Lancaster and Magistrate Court in Leola. She was a member of the Lancaster chapter of Professional Secretaries as well as the American Business Women’s Association (Olde Ark Chapter) and a past president. She later married Robert Klopefer in 1992 and they moved to Willow Street. They both enjoyed traveling, bowling, camping, going to the beach, crafting and they could be found selling their wares at craft shows. Peggy’s hobbies were crocheting as well as jewelry making and flower arranging.

She is survived by her daughter Tammy Collier (Rich) and her son Michael Eckman (Juanita). She is also survived by 2 stepchildren, Kristine Becker (Troy) and Robert P. Kloepfer (Stephanie) as well as several grandchildren, step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her brothers, John Bond and Tom Bond along with many nieces and nephews in Ohio remain.

Peg is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kloepfer, and her first spouse, Robert Eckman. Her granddaughter, Dianna, and her great granddaughter Chastity also precede her in death. Other family predeceased are her parents Charles and Marie (Abram) Bond, brothers: William Bond, Charles Bond, Jr. and Neil R. Bond, Sr.

Peg’s life will be remembered and celebrated at a graveside service on Saturday, August 29 at 11:00 am at the Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
