Marie V Oster

Marie V. Oster, 69, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026. Born on January 8, 1957, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the youngest of ten children.

Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Freas Lou Oster, who passed away in 2004.

She is survived by her loving children: Penelope Heichel and her husband Gerald Heichel; Wendy Snyder and her husband Derek Snyder; and Freas Oster Jr. and his wife Cassie Oster. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Michael (Jordan), Kellsey (Trent), Alyssa (Andrew), Brittany (Ryan), Brianna, Alex, Zoey, Rylee, Clarissa, Gracie, Anna, Violet, and Freas III. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Everleigh, Braven, Drew, Elias, Adalynn, Annie, and Corven.

Marie was especially proud of earning her Associate’s Degree with honors from Luzerne County Community College in 2009, along with a certificate in computer applications. Her determination to continue her education later in life was an inspiration to her family and a testament to her strong spirit and love of learning.

A devoted Catholic, Marie found comfort in her faith throughout her life. She enjoyed listening to music, reading books, and spending time with her family, who meant everything to her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 7, 2026, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Penelope. Marie’s legacy of faith, perseverance, and deep love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
