Mark Gene Lefever

Mark Gene Lefever of Quarryville, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at age 71. Sadly, his health quickly declined after he underwent extensive throat cancer surgery in August of 2023.

He was born in Lancaster, PA and is pre-deceased by his parents John R. Lefever, Doris L. (Caldwell) Lefever Pazakis and his sister, Jonita L. (Lefever) Hashinger.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Deborah A. (Harris) Lefever of Quarryville, his children: Angela J. (Harris) Kitch (Ray) of Marietta, Mark A. Lefever of Marietta, Jessica L. Lefever of Lancaster, Rory J. Lefever of Peach Bottom and his grandchildren, Rory J. Wells-Lefever and Alyvia Grace Montijo.

Mark was an auto body painter most of his life. Before retiring, he worked as a welder for Frey Brothers Mfg., helped out on his best friend’s farm, and briefly drove Amish.

He loved his wife, children and grandchildren and always looked forward to family gatherings. Nothing made him happier than seeing everyone come together. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and watching Philadelphia sports. He always had a tale to tell and was an animal lover. He taught his cat, Spatz, to play fetch. He will be forever loved and forever missed.

A private family service will be held.
