Melanie Marie Leopold

Melanie Marie Garlock Leopold (nee Haist), 73, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026.

Born on July 6, 1952 in Martinez, CA to the late Gail Haist (nee Edwards) and Arthur "Benny" Benjamin Ward, Melanie graduated from Central Dauphin High School and spent over 20 years working at the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency. Melanie had a deep and enduring love for her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was warm and caring to all but also sharp with a delightfully dark sense of humor. All enjoyed her infectious laugh. Melanie loved the Lord and was strong in her faith. While we are so very deeply saddened by her passing, we know, as did she, that she now is with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior for eternity.

Melanie is survived by her brothers, Mickey Haist (Pixie) and Jon D'Agostino (Darrell); her children, Tina Wilson (Tony) and Annie Jones (Maurice) and her grandchildren, Josiah (fiancée Lainee), Abigail and Jane.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the Park Street Chapel in Elizabethtown.
