Neal L. Houck

Neal L. Houck, 81, of New Providence passed away peacefully at his home on May 10, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born December 2, 1943, in Robertsdale, PA, he was the son of the late Ernest D. Houck and Irene Baker Houck. He was united in marriage to Nancy Stinson Houck, on June 5, 1965, at the United Methodist Church in Cherrytown, PA.

Neal is survived by a son, Brian N. Houck and wife Candy of New Providence and a daughter, Brenda H.Harbison and husband Greg of Glen Allen, VA. He is the beloved grandfather of five grandchildren: Matthew Houck, Cody Houck and wife Lauren, Zachary Houck, Owyn Harbison, and Brinton Harbison. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Myla Houck, Layne Houck, Natalie Houck, Jazmin Houck, and Liam Houck.

Neal graduated from Robertsdale High School in 1961and was a member of the basketball and baseball teams, as well as a member of the marching band,playing the clarinet. He then attended Stevens Trade School in Lancaster graduating in 1965. Neal had a lengthy career in automative and marine mechanics. Neal had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman which he shared with his son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He and the love of his life Nancy had a wonderful loving relationship for 65 years and enjoyed traveling, cruises, beach vacations, lots of dancing and above all spending time with their family. Neal is described by his friends as the life of the party and will be remembered as a kind, caring and generous man that did all he could to help his family and friends.

Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
