Philip Lohr, 74, passed away on August 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on April 24, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland, he lived a life filled with laughter, family, and a deep love for animals and the outdoors.
Phil was a devoted father to Jason Lohr and his wife Valerie, and to Christina Lohr-Beatty and her husband Adam Beatty. He took great pride in his role as a granddad to Andrew (Drew) Lohr, Nathan Beatty, and Brice Beatty. His family was the heart of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them—whether it was sharing meals, telling silly jokes that brought smiles to their faces, or simply enjoying each other’s company.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures. A passionate outdoorsman, Phil loved hunting and spending time with his beloved dogs. His bond with animals was profound and enduring. He also shared special traditions with his children: attending concerts with Christina and cheering from the stands at baseball games alongside Jason and Drew. These moments became treasured memories that reflected the closeness he nurtured within his family.
Phil was predeceased by his parents, Hazel and Herbert Lohr, as well as his brother Clinton Lohr. Their memories remained close to him throughout his life.
In honor of Phil’s lifelong affection for dogs and commitment to their well-being, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his name to BARCS (Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter). Supporting this cause would be a fitting tribute to a man who found such joy in the companionship of animals.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Hampden United Methodist Church on September 6, 2025 at 12:30 PM. Food and refreshments will be provided.
May Philip Lohr’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness, laughter, and love for generations to come.
