He was also predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Vera Anita Howse (née Sellers, Oct 10, 1933 - Apr 9, 2023). Most of his youth was spent in Greenville, TX, with his extended family.

Bob loved to tell tales of his childhood and reveled in his family's history.

Bob won a scholarship to Southwestern at Memphis (now Rhodes College) and planned to be a minister. He transferred to East Texas State Teachers College and graduated with a degree in Business.

He was in the Navy during the Korean War. Though he saw no active service, he did get to spend time in Japan. In Pensacola, FL, he met and married his wife of 66 years, Vera Anita Howse (née Sellers, Oct 10, 1933 - Apr 9, 2023).

In California, Bob's career flourished in Business Administration with Ampex, Hughes Aerospace, and later Westinghouse.

After homes in Torrance, CA and Sterling Park, VA they lived in Crofton, MD. Bob’s high security work at Westinghouse used his unique problem solving and organizational abilities for division reorganizations.

In the 1980's, as an early innovator in law firm management, he spearheaded electronic spreadsheet systems in some of the nation’s top 10 international law firms. After retirement age, he had administrative jobs with local charities where he mentored and assisted colleagues until age 75.

Bob loved books, National Geographic, board games, television, science fiction and telling childhood memories. He was generous with friends and family.

He is survived by children Robert Howse, Jr. MD CMD, Twyla Howse, and Aaron Howse as well as his six grandchildren.
