Shelby Grogg

Shelby Louis Schaffner (Grogg), age 82, daughter of the late Stuart Schaffner and Lottie Viola Witmer, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, in York, Pennsylvania. Her husband of 38 years, Gerald, survives her, as well as her four children: Shonna K. Morningstar, Judith A. Morningstar, Jean M. Cover (Morningstar), and Sherry L. Gaines (Morningstar). Her legacy continues through her ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Jordan (Schaffner) and family of York, PA and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

Shelby was born on August 9, 1943, in York Haven, Pennsylvania. A lifelong resident of Pennsylvania, Shelby’s presence touched many. She will be remembered with deep affection.
