Sherry Showalter

Sherry Lynn Showalter, 56 of Lancaster, formerly Brownstown, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Lancaster General Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer for the past 5 months. Born in Lancaster, Sherry was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Herr Jr. and Virginia L. (Montgomery) Herr. Sherry attended Conestoga Valley High School and later received her GED. Many of Sherry’s jobs in the past were retail where she enjoyed the customer interaction. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing games on her phone, scrolling Facebook and making her Homemade Chicken Pot Pie.

In addition to her two children Ryan S. Showalter of Nanty Glo, PA and Amber L. Showalter of Manheim, PA. She is survived by a sister Charlotte (Herr) Dussinger wife of Glenn Dussinger of New Holland. Their two children, Cody Dussinger, wife of Pria (Shah) and daughter Mila of Yardley, PA and Heather Dussinger of New Holland, PA. A brother Doug Herr, husband of Shannon (Griffith) Herr of Adamstown and their three children Lukas, Emerson and Asher all of Adamstown. She is also survived by 3 grandsons, Joey, Brextin and Colestin.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father Benjamin Franklin Herr Jr., her mother Virginia L. Herr and sister, Kimberly E. Herr.
