Raymond P. LaBarre

Raymond P. LaBarre, 86 of East Stroudsburg, PA died on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Mennonite Home Communities in Lancaster, PA. He was the husband of Jane Shaffer LaBarre who would have celebrated there 65 wedding aniversity in November.

Born Thursday, June 7, 1928 in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Raymond and Nellie Detrick LaBarre.

Ray was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School in 1946 and played on the first football team for the school.

He was a retired galvanizer from the former Cooper Industries, East Stroudsburg. Raymond enjoyed the outdoors by camping, boating and fishing and he was a member of the B. P. O. Elks.

He was a US Army veteran of WW II having been a prison guard at Sugamo Prison, Tokyo.

Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Kim LaBarre and wife Diane (Transue) LaBarre of Lancaster, PA; daughter, Debra Miraglia and husband Salvatore of North Canton, OH; grandchildren April McFadden, Amy Hunter, Matthew LaBarre, Kristen LaBarre, Michael Miraglia and Shendra deOliveria. He is also survived by a sister, Lois Dilg of Naples, FL. and thirteen great grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. August the 7th at the B.P.O. Elks, 260 Washington Street. East Stroudsburg Pa. followed by luncheon.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church 83 S Courtland Street, East Stroudsburg Pa. 18301
