Wishing you peace to bring comfort , courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart. Reed was my supervisor and friend at Community Action Partnership. I will forever remember his whittines and his sence of humor.

The world is a poorer place with Reed not in it. No one I know was a stronger advocate for people who are marginalized. He worked in the system in an effort to change it for the better. He was also a good friend, in touch with world events, had a brilliant mind and a caring heart. I was privileged to know him as a colleague at Children & Youth Agency. He taught me so much. RIP, Reed.

Reed was one of of the kindest, sweetest souls ever, a champion of the underserved. No one ever called me LOVEY like he did, and I hope I will miss that forever❤. He was the brother of my heart, and comforted me when mine was broken. Once he even let me trim his sideburns after a night of good food, better drink, and sloppy dance moves. He was my ex husband’s AND my brother in law’s only man-kiss (and my sister was none the worse for it….although I ended up divorced????). He loved his Mom and of course, Kyle. He loved all of us, over the years sending us cards for every occasion–Valentines, St Patty’s, Easter…..the very best giver of gifts for a time.
I want his family to know how much I loved him, how important he was to me. I wish I could share all my memories with you too. Thank you for sharing him with us.

I met Reed in 1970 when he moved to Shamokin. We were friends from Kindergarten and shared many memories together. His humor was contagious. He also had an infectious laugh as we often spent time together with a shared peer group. When he started in Child Welfare we reacquainted after several years. He was a strong advocate and made the lives of others better. You will be missed Reed.

I met Reed in first grade. He had such a wonderful gift of making people laugh and smile. As life took us in different directions, throughout the years after high school graduation I had the pleasure of running into him. Each time we talked, it was as if no time had passed between our meetings. You had a special gift. God bless you Reed.

I am so sorry to hear of Reed’s passing. He was a friend and protege of mine when he worked at Lancaster County Children and Youth. He will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies to all family and friends.

Although I have not seen Reed in years , I remember him fondly from Lancaster Children and Youth. He was kind to all and had a great sense of humor. I pray his soul is at peace.

Karla – I am so sorry to hear about Reed’s passing. Of course, to me, he will always be the little kid brother who tried to hang around us at your house in Irish Valley, which was a magical place to me. It was amazing to read his obituary and realize the person that he had become. I wish I had had a chance to know him as an adult. Sending prayers and love.

Was so sorry to learn of Reed’s passing – quite by accident. We (group of friends) fondly remember him in Berlin and still hold him in our hearts after all these years. I recently came across the many cards he had sent over the years that I kept for sentimental reasons and wanted to send him a birthday card out of the blue, but then came across the sad news when looking up his address. Reed was simply one of the nicest, funniest, kindest, creative people I had the pleasure to meet. Happy Birthday, dear Reed! (Aug 12) We miss your spirit!
