Anthony P. Weaver, 73, formerly of Ephrata Manor, died on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Maple Farm Nursing Home. Tony was a lifelong smoker and suffered from COPD and lung cancer. The family would like to thank the staff of Maple Farm for their patient, faithful daily care of Tony and Hospice & Community Care of Lancaster for their expert guidance and support.
Prior to retirement, Tony was the property caretaker for Rocky Springs Park in Lancaster, where he said he enjoyed some of the most “engaging and rewarding” years of his life. He was proprietor of the old Bowmansville General Store until a fire in August 2001. As a side venture, he worked for 9 years as a greeting card distributor, stocking displays at many retail establishments. He was a parts manager for New Holland Ford and New Holland Chrysler / Plymouth, and partner of Stereolab Sound Services.
Tony was an active and enthusiastic alumnus of his Garden Spot High School Class of 1971, serving as reunion president for 40 years. He took great pride in creating colorful event announcements for the apartment residents at Ephrata Manor and studying market sectors and trends for his personal investing. Other interests included his 13 years as Executive Secretary of the Mohnton Fish & Game Protective Association and 16 years sharing his house along Reading Road in Mohnton with a long list of friends / tenants.
Born on March 21, 1953, he is survived by his parents, Arthur M. and Ruth F. Weaver formerly of New Holland; a sister, Deb W., wife of Ken Strubel of Lancaster; two younger brothers, Kent M. of New Holland and Dale M., husband of Lisa of Monroe, New Jersey; and two nephews and three nieces.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service, Rev. Tim Witmer officiating, on Monday, July 20 at 11 am at St. Stephen Reformed Church, 249 E. Main St., New Holland, PA. The family will receive guests at the church from 10 am until the service starts. Inurnment at Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery will be private.
